![]() Unfortunately we aren't able to provide a walk way or post a flag for tubes along the river bank as it is public property and VT conservation laws prevent us from changing the shore line or obstructing the scenery. The paths along the river are well trodden and easy to follow. The put in location is a large recirculating eddy pool, so the point to put in for tubes is about a 5 minute walk from the beach. We monitor the weather very closely and knew the rain was a short temporary storm without anything on the radar behind it. On the day you are referring to we postponed the briefing because of the short period of rain anticipated as we didn't want to put you on the river during a down pour. I am glad you enjoyed your float trip, it is a really nice lazy float. Overall fun but wish we had gotten going on time and wish we had started a little further down the river so we didn't have to make such an effort to get going. Highly recommend water shoes so you can kick yourself away from the low points (there were a few times we'd drift to the side and just need to kick off and re-center ourselves). The tubes have ropes to attach yourself to the people in your group. The river was running 'low and slow' but it was still really enjoyable for a 4 hour float. ![]() Once we started going it was a good float. ![]() Everyone walked a little bit down to this little beach and plopped in and no one really moved until you relentlessly kicked for no joke, 20 mins, to catch the flow. If they had a flag or something along the river that showed us where to start it would've been much easier. The bus ride to the drop off spot was really quick, but I think they should've instructed us to walk down the river much more than we did before we get into the water because it literally took us 25 minutes to catch the current on the river tube. They only cancel if there's life threatening weather, but they will just send you off in the rain if it's raining (luckily it stopped for us by 12:15). We were supposed to leave at 12:00pm but we didn't start actually going over instructions until about five past noon because it was pouring rain from 11:30am-12:00pm.
